My mother says that “life is fa-hok (not lasting, not durable)”. She’s never read a single spiritual or intellectual/philosophical book before, but she just knows things like this, which at first I tend to disagree with but later find truths in it. Like everyone of us, we all know the answers of who we are and what life is. That explains why she is always cheerful and lives life as if there’s nothing to worry about. I consider time an obstacle because of my frequent sudden spur of the moment creative urges. For example, right now. Deadline is drawing close and there is a huge stack of things waiting in my Inbox to be cleared. Yet, here I am in the flow blogging this!

I don’t see it as frivolous because I enjoy doing this. But Ego Lily is perched on my shoulder, saying; “Shame on you, you should be doing that article. You shouldn’t waste time. Time is running out. You shouldn’t…”

Having explored what illusions and holographic paradigms are, it’s interesting how the holographic paradigm fit into the material world: time, space and physical experiences. I was just thinking, if all three were images like something on a projector screen – easily switched off, and turned back on again, then basically, there’s nothing else anymore. Or is there? The boundaries between science and spirituality have always been a blur. It’s the same thing – in fact, I see them as the SAME side of a coin. Both search for the truth, except one has solid physical proof and the other is based on intuitive knowing. So no need to toss a coin to see which side wins.

It intrigued and scared me as a child when I learned that the Earth wasn’t the only planet in the Universe. I would look up in the sky with fascination and wondered if one of the planets was where Heaven is. If so, where’s hell? Were there planets under the ground I walked too? Amid the darken sky with twinkling diamond stars, I also wondered if there were other people like me living there.

Big questions for a small kid.

It also scared me out of my little soul each time I looked at the picture of planets orbiting in a black abyss called the Universe. Because suddenly the Earth, which seemed to be an already infinite place to me then, seemed small, and even vulnerable. What if the sun decided to sputter out a tiny flaming rock? End of us. That thought used to make me shudder.

Now, it intrigued and also scared me a little as I learned about how the world is but an illusion. So if all around me is not real, I am not real, what is real then? If nothing is real, then what’s the point of existing? Is there meaning to anything at all? Where do I find the truth? But firstly, what is the truth?

Still a big question for a kid already grown up. But those are vital questions that open the gates towards my spiritual path.
